Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens
Who doesn’t love a good zoo? The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is home to over 70 species of animal! The Naples Zoo is 43 acres of pure fun and amazement. If you go to this zoo in Naples, you will be in awe of all the animals and plants. Take a walk down the main path a you will be able to look up at the tropical trees and see colorful birds flying around amongst the leaves and branches. Look in the lakes and you may see a snapping alligator lurking in the water. You can even take a tour on a boat in the lake to see gorillas in their habitat on an island. How exciting!
The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens has a rich history in addition to its flashy attractions. It was started as just the Caribbean Gardens in the early 20th century. Dr. Henry Nehrling first created these botanical gardens, but they were neglected after his death for some time. In the 1950s, another man came in and restored the gardens, adding lakes, miles of pathways, and introducing new animals as well. Many years later the zoo was added with exotic animals and it is now the Naples Zoo that we know and love!
The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens is located off Goodlette-Frank Road and Caribbean Gardens Road. Near by is the Naples Pier.
